Sometimes a property can decline or cancel a reservation when there appears to be availability for the same property elsewhere.
This can be confusing and may have you wondering why.
There are a number of possible reasons.
The first is that the "contracted inventory/rooms" for that offer have sold out. This means that a certain number of rooms are set aside at an agreed rate. Once they are sold, the property will no longer accept bookings on those conditions.
This is why the same room may appear elsewhere (at a different rate) on other sites as available.
Sometimes some of the days you have selected are not available, which can also cause the property to decline or cancel a reservation.
The availability advertised when you made your selection may have also changed due to bookings coming via other channels. For example, walk-ups and phone-ins.
This means that while at the time of making a reservation, there was an available room, however a booking has come from another source for the same dates and room, which was processed prior to yours, resulting in a decline or cancellation.
We understand any decline or unexpected cancellation can be frustrating and we will work with the property for alternatives when possible.
We can also look for alternative accommodation on your behalf, or offer suggestions.
